Conventions, Costume Construction, Kate's Costumes

At least I’ve got hair!

My hairYes, yes I do.  My wonderful, awesome, amazing stylist did a great job and I have a near perfect hairpiece to wear with my Season 9 costumes now.  🙂  Must remember to do something really, really nice for her for Christmas!  Never before have I had a piece that looked this real and natural.  I am thrilled.

Since I haven’t had it long, I’m still learning how to style it but as you can see from the photos, it’s pretty awesome.  And all the photos are from the first day I had it, so I’m still working out all the kinks and positioning but I know it’ll be great.VHC

We head out for Stargate Creation Con in Chicago (it’s actually in Rosemont?) tomorrow afternoon and I already  miss my munchkin.  That being said, I am looking forward to costuming again, spending time with my hubby and our friend Shane and meeting some other SG fans.  Hopefully it’ll be a really nice time and not like the Creation Con I went to in New Jersey back in Fall of 2006.  The one redeeming grace of that was that I met some awesome people (I’ll refrain from posting about that right now though).

So hems have been redone, a few details touched up and hopefully I’ll get packing done tonight after my princess goes to bed.  🙂VHP

About Kate, who is becoming Vala or Aeryn (depending on the day)

I'm a costumer, seamstress and new Mom that enjoys the challenges of recreating costume seen on screen, as well as wearable garments. There's lots I could tell you about myself, but we'll save that for another day. ;-) (aka: HothGirl)
